These vintage cutoffs, each pair unique and carefully selected from the faded-to-perfection denim collection of What Comes Around Goes Around, exist thanks to Levi Strauss. In 1873, the Bavarian-born entrepreneur worked with Jacob Davis, a tailor from Reno, Nevada, to created riveted-for-strength workwear made of true blue denim. Their patented “XX” model—later renamed for its lot number, 501—marked the birth of the blue jean. The DIY innovation of cutting off the legs to make shorts was soon to follow.
