Tabletop Mirror w/Magnifying Option - Black Marble
In creating this tabletop mirror for Menu, Milan-based Studiopepe looked to Italian design of the late 1950s, especially the work of Gio Ponti, Luigi Caccia Dominioni, and Carlo de Carli, who elevated quotidian objects with sleek forms and precious materials. The disc of mirrored glass—one side magnifies (3x) and the other does not—is framed in brass and set in a streamlined stand of black marble. “We like to use really great materials, which gain beauty over the years—not the opposite,” say Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto of Studiopepe, who aim “to design products that last almost forever.”
