Handwoven of pure cotton, this narrow stripcloth or “jacquard” is representative of a long and proud tradition of African textiles. Neutral black and white put the focus on a fully reversible diamond pattern that ends in gently fringed edges. It was made on a traditional ground loom by weavers in Burkina Faso as part of the SOS-SaveOurSkills Projet de Tissage, which aims to secure the survival of West Africa's rural cottage industries of traditional cotton cultivation and processing.
