Designer and craftsman Max Poglia describes this small but sturdy dog as a “lucky charm.” Handmade in Brazil, the brass canine has its origins in a New York City thrift shop find. “Its legs were broken off, so I made new ones and then used it as a mold,” explains Poglia, who cast the form in brass in his workshop in southern Brazil. The result is a loyal, gleaming companion to keep close at hand on a desk or night table.
