Nestled in the Margam Forest of South Wales, Hafod Grange has developed a process for embedding flowers and seedheads in polyester resin: a material that has the look of molten glass with none of its specimen-destroying properties. This paperweight, for which the company was awarded the UK Design Council’s Tarian label for outstanding Welsh-made craft products, preserves the puffy head of a hand-picked dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) in a crystal clear globe, allowing the gossamer ball of plumed seeds to be admired from all angles. The resin is infused with a UV filter to prevent fading. Also available in a smaller size.
