A pioneer of Danish design, Henning Koppel (1918-1981) trained as a painter and sculptor before turning his attention to jewelry, hollowware, and cutlery. His designs, at once functional and organic, played an important role in influencing the signature look of Georg Jensen, particularly in the second half of the 20th century. This understated candleholder is done in gold-tone, polished brass and was designed to resemble a tiny floating island when placed atop credenza or coffee table.
