A pioneer of Danish design, Henning Koppel (1918-1981) trained as a painter and sculptor before turning his attention to jewelry, hollowware, and cutlery. His designs, at once functional and organic, played an important role in influencing the signature look of Georg Jensen, particularly in the second half of the 20th century. This pitcher is one of his most famous pieces and was first formed in 1952. Spare but sensuous, with an elegantly extended handle and exaggerated lip, it was relaunched in 2008 to coincide with Koppel’s 90th birthday.
