Established in 1946, the house of Christian Dior is best known for its couture but for decades also offered an exquisite selection of decorative objects that included this silver-plated bronze box, which is believed to date from the 1970s. Striking yet streamlined, the round, lidded container is topped by a handle accented with a geode-cut amethyst. The contrast between the natural patina of the vintage coffer and the vibrant purples of the stone handle renders this item truly unique.
