Lobmeyr of Vienna is a dynasty of glass. The sixth-generation family business has a legacy of challenging both prevailing tastes and the material itself. Designed by Oswald Haerdtl (1899–1959), this lead-free crystal candy dish debuted at the Paris Exhibition of 1925 and is in the collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York. The dome-covered hemispherical bowl, supported by a thin stem on a flat, circular foot, charms with its lightness and encourages elegant handling.
