“Think of the fit of a men’s 501, but made for a woman.” That’s how our creative director, Vanessa Traina, describes the refined jeans that she and Protagonist designer Kate Wendelborn created in collaboration with the denim experts at 3x1. They choose raw selvedge denim made by Japan’s Kurabo Mills for a trouser-like take on a classic straight-leg jean. The high-rise fit visually lengthens the legs, explains Wendelborn. “And a back pocket is placed just so, to complement and highlight your backside.”

“It's indigo dyed with a vertical slub character and natural ecru fill," says 3x1 founder Scott Morrison. "This red cast denim has a bit of 'grin-though,' which gives it some authentic character, but offers a comfortable weight and slight stretch, with white selvedge.”
