- Description
- A 2009 graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, Lex Pott experiments with natural materials, pushing the limits of wood, stone, and metal. The Dutch designer’s first collaboration with Copenhagen-based &Tradition is True Colours: a series of vases that juxtapose polished metal with the matte, variegated hues of its oxidized state. This vase reveals a color combination that is organic and inherent to brass. The bipartite effect is created when the entire vase is oxidized, and one strip—at the top—is cleaned and polished. “By showing both the original and oxidized color in one product, the viewer is made aware of its material qualities,” says Pott.
