- Max and Peter Kater
- Sydney and Los Angeles
Dreams of “gorgeous housecleaning products that didn’t exist” led fashion editor-turned-stay-at-home mother Max Kater to create Murchison-Hume, a name borrowed from her father-in-law, Dr. Roderick Murchison-Hume Kater. “To me, it has just the right mix of style and old-school gravitas,” says Kater of the double-barreled designation. “Even better, the man himself is the embodiment of our company’s core values: practical, elegant, extremely durable, and authentically eco-friendly.” Having launched in Sydney with cheekily named, elegantly scented cleaning products that are based on technology used to clean up oil spills in the ocean, Murchison-Hume has recently expanded to Los Angeles.
