New York City

Considered to be one of the most important American portrait photographers working today, Annie Leibovitz began her career in 1970 at Rolling Stone. Over more than a decade at the magazine she began to develop her distinctive style—dramatic, crisp, and vividly colored—before moving on to become the first contributing photographer for the revived Vanity Fair. In addition to her editorial work at Vanity Fair, and later at Vogue, she has created several award-winning advertising campaigns.
