Moments in the Sun:
Feminine Flourishes, Reframed
Photographed by Hanna Tveite
The back-to-school bustle proposes a clean break between summer and fall, but don’t cut the sunny season short. Instead, savor the first weeks of September with a fresh outlook—and a seasonless wardrobe full of playful and feminine details. The hyperrealistic abstractions of French painter Gérard Schlosser inspire a reframing of familiar scenes into potent moments, bright with possibility.
For his debut Atlein collection, Balenciaga veteran Antonin Tron studied the work of designer Jean Muir, who shared his love of jersey. “I wanted a structured diaphanousness that flattered the silhouette,” says Tron.
“Red is such a sensuous color,” says Georgia Lazzaro, design director of Protagonist. She energized the fall collection’s largely neutral palette with fiery hues of carmine and cardinal.
